Common questions

What does it cost?

Each app shows its price before you run it: 25¢ for an itemized statement or a death certificate check, 50¢ for an obituary, a program, thank you notes or a year of aftercare letters, and $1 to check a General Price List or read a preneed contract, insurance policy or DD-214. New accounts get $10 in free credits. There are no monthly fees.

Will the obituary make anything up?

No. Tribute Obituary Writer uses only the facts in your arrangement notes, spells every name the way you typed it, and lists anything you should confirm with the family before it's published.

Does the price list checker follow the FTC Funeral Rule?

Yes. It checks your General Price List for the Funeral Rule's required disclosures and the 16 required itemized prices, and marks each one in place, unclear or missing. It reports what your list shows; it isn't legal advice.

Can it tell a family what veterans burial benefits they qualify for?

It reads the DD-214 and shows the benefits the veteran likely qualifies for, like burial in a national cemetery, a headstone, the burial flag, military funeral honors and the VA burial allowance, with the VA form for each. The VA and the military make the final decision.

Do you keep the families' information?

We don't save the files you upload. If you're signed in, the results are saved to your account so you can reopen them on any device, and you can delete them anytime. See our Privacy Policy.
