How it works
For roofing and exterior contractors and homeowners working a hail or wind claim. Upload the insurance adjuster's estimate (Xactimate, Symbility or another format) as a PDF or photos, or paste the text, and add the squares you measured if you like. Storm Scope Reader lays out the claim: the carrier, claim number, date of loss and cause, the adjuster's contact, every line item by room or elevation with its quantity, replacement cost (RCV) and depreciation, and the roof as scoped (squares, waste, pitch, stories, layers). The app does the math: totals by trade (roofing, gutters, siding, windows, fence), the first check (actual cash value: RCV less depreciation and the deductible), the recoverable depreciation paid once the work is done, and what the claim pays in all. It checks the lines against the scope's own totals, flags when your measured squares are more than the scope pays for, and notes when three or more trades have no overhead and profit. Then it lists commonly missed items the roof likely needs, like drip edge, starter strip, ridge cap, ice and water barrier, step flashing, steep and high roof charges and code upgrades, each with the reason. It reports what the estimate says; it isn't a public adjuster.
It reports what the estimate says. The insurer decides what it pays.
