How it works
For general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers who don't want to lose their lien rights on an unpaid job. Enter the state, your role (general contractor hired by the owner, subcontractor or material supplier), residential or commercial, the dates you first and last furnished labor or materials, and the amount owed. Remodel Lien Deadlines looks up the state's mechanic's lien rules from the statutes and reputable sources: the preliminary or pre lien notice, notice of intent, filing the lien statement, notifying the owner, and filing suit to enforce it. The app works out the date each deadline falls on from your job's dates and how many days are left, with the statute citation and a link to the source for every step. If no reliable source turns up, you aren't charged. Lien deadlines are strict, so confirm with a construction attorney before you rely on a date.
